Many months ago, I received the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water by Wishtrend and I've been using it in my skincare routine ever since!

This product is the perfect exfoliant and pore reducing item I've ever used up to date. It's gentle, however, I'm not sure if this item is for everyone. Especially those with sensitive skin since this is an acid after all, regardless of how gentle Mandelic acid acts on the skin.  

It retails for $22 USD for 120ml. 

So, what is this Mandelic acid? Mandelic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) and is one of the more gentle AHA’s out there, due to its larger molecular size. It doesn’t irritate your skin like glycolic acid does. This is made from bitter almonds and was discovered back in 1831 by a German pharmacist. Mandel is German for almond. 

This acid helps with pigmentation to improve the skin tone and texture. Also, as a mild exfoliator that works on the surface of the skin, safe to use even for sensitive skin to avoid the use of harsh chemical exfoliation.This acid is more gentle, so effects will not be immediate, but it is safe to use for long terms and will help refresh your skin over time.

The ingredients of this product are:
Water, Mandelic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Sorbitol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natto Gum, Carbomer

As you can see, the consistency is very watery, which is perfect since the skin will absorb it quickly. Oh, and a little goes a long way. It stings a little at first, so you need to make sure that you moisturize your skin afterward since, it is an acid after all and just like when you have a chemical peel, your first dead skin layer will slightly peel off into the new fresh skin.

On their website they state how to use this product:

1) Before the toner, gently wipe and pat the product on your face using a cotton pad.
2) Limit the use of this product depending on your skin type. (For sensitive skin, we recommend 2-3 times a week)
3) For morning use, please make sure to apply sun-lotion after using the product.
4) We recommend not to use this product with other facial scrubs, AHA/BHA, and Vitamin C products.
